We will be sponsoring the family of Jason Rogers this week. Please join me in praying for his family as well as his friends..The following information is Jasons Story:
Jason Rogers was an amazing young man who was diagnosed with leukemia
August 25, 2010. At the tender age of 16, he under went the strongest
of Chemo and radiation, as well as a Bone Marrow Transplant at the age
of 17. He was getting ready for his second transplant one week before
he passed at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston on May 14th
2012 due to liver and kidney failure caused by graft versus host
disease due to a non-related donor. He was throwing a football with
his brothers and childhood friend, trying to be "just a normal kid"
when he fell and broke his wrist, also injuring his pelvic bone. He
was then brought into CHOA Egleston with a tummy ache on April 19,
2012, only to then be diagnosed with pancreatitis. After 2 weeks of
being admitted, he stopped breathing and was put into PICU to be
intubated. He was put on two blood pressure medications for heart
failure for a week, and soon after being baptized he began to breathe
on his own and was taken off the heart medications. After making this
progress, he then returned to the AFLAC unit where he would soon spend
his final days, surrounded by many loved ones.
